Humans are social by nature. We enjoy sharing our thoughts and ideas with others to express ourselves or to acquire pertinent information. Nowadays, human interaction is a lot easier - thanks to a range of social media platforms, including the one we've developed: HelpeerZ.
Perhaps your biggest question right now is how does HelpeerZ distinguish itself from all other existing platforms. Our biggest response is that HelpeerZ is ethical. Indeed, on this platform, you can build lives in a more positive way through mutual assistance during project collaboration. You can work with your family, friends, neighbors, acquaintances and even strangers to boost your personal, academic, career, business, or community growth.
Furthermore, we believe that a platform rooted in science can serve to improve the current state of how individuals engage with social networks and social media. Here's how we do it: HelpeerZ aims to create a positive and meaningful experience that aligns with the values and goals of its users. Our application will be known for its commitment to upholding the rights, privacy, and overall well-being of its users and the society. It will not exploit user data for profit, influence user behavior for the sake of engagement, or spread harmful or misleading content for the purpose of exerting influence.
In this regard, we tried to adopt Dr. Martin Seligman's positive psychology theory as the framework and model for our platform. Positive psychology is the study of human flourishing, focusing on the positive qualities and capabilities of individuals and communities as a means to achieve a state of overall well-being.[1] This philosophy serves as an essential foundation for the development of an ethically designed social networking platform.
This theory was also supported by Dr. Christopher Peterson and Dr. Mihaly Csikszentmihalyi, two of the founding fathers of positive psychology. Dr. Peterson collaborated with Dr. Seligman on many projects. He co-authored the book Character Strengths and Virtues, which identified 24 universal strengths that contribute to human flourishing.[2]
Dr. Csikszentmihalyi coined the term "flow" to describe the state of complete immersion and engagement in an activity that offers both enjoyment and challenge. He identified the conditions and characteristics associated with the state of flow, such as having well-defined goals, immediate feedback, a balance between skills and challenges, and loss of self-consciousness.[3] At HelpeerZ, we achieve a similar outcome by ensuring that users don't merely use the app for amusement, but employ it as a tool for the ongoing pursuit of personal growth and development.
Projects serve as the heart and soul of content on HelpeerZ. They will involve mentors and mentees, acting as catalysts for collaboration among users. Mentors possess extensive and varied knowledge, experience, and technical expertise related to a project, while mentees have the chance to gain and exchange knowledge and information from their mentors and other users.
Through our platform, every user can acquire knowledge, enhance their reasoning abilities, solve problems, and hone their talents and interests that can be applied in their daily lives. This is why HelpeerZ has also embraced Dr. Howard Gardner’s theory of multiple intelligences. At HelpeerZ, we believe that multiple intelligences including linguistic, logical-mathematical, spatial, musical, bodily-kinesthetic, interpersonal, intrapersonal, and naturalistic, will naturally manifest in our users and play a vital role during project collaboration, allowing users to bring out their maximum potential.[4]
HelpeerZ has features and structures designed to address issues related to cognitive biases among our users, along with concerns surrounding authentication and traceability. Our platform is also designed to tackle the biggest problems in social networks such as misinformation and disinformation, privacy and data security, mental health and overall well-being, reputation and identity, social cohesion, and diversity. HelpeerZ will, under no circumstances, engage in activities such as manipulation, deception, or causing harm to users and society. It will not employ dark patterns, addictive design, misleading design, or unfair design practices.
We cannot solve these problems alone. Join us, and let’s work together to make our world a better place.
